Florida Retiro Madrid

The legendary Florida Park Festival Hall in Madrid recently reopened its doors under a new name, Florida Retiro, with a host of high-end facilities and services that include a complete DAS Audio professional sound system. The revamped venue concept now offers a range of live shows and different rooms along with an extensive gourmet menu to meet every guest need, together making Florida Retiro one of the Spanish capital’s most enticing entertainment destinations.

Full-service provider Fluge Audiovisuales was called in to handle the supply and installation of the Florida Retiro’s new sound system. With Quini Mostaza at the helm, the Fluge sound technicians analyzed the venue’s specific requirements and recommended the owners install a system drawn from DAS Audio’s extensive catalog of high-performance sound solutions.

To guarantee superb sound throughout the venue’s La Sala festival hall, where live performances are held from Thursday to Sunday, the technicians opted to fly two Aero-20A line arrays in six cabinets per side in a classic right-left configuration as the house mains. The hangs were coupled with two LX-218CA and two LX-118A powered subwoofers, which were hidden under the stage for minimum visual impact.

The Fluge technicians curated a tailored sound solution based on a combination of DAS Audio’s Artec and Arco series for El Pabellón and La Galería, two of the venue’s first-class dining areas. A total of 14 Artec-506, Artec-506A and Artec-526 were deployed between the two spaces, along with 36 Arco-4T and Arco-24T systems. Low-frequency support was provided by four Artec-S15 and five Arco-12Sub subwoofers.

The team opted for DAS Audio’s WR Series for Florida Retiro’s Los Kioskos, which includes outdoor areas and is designed as a space for having tapas. A total of 12 WR-8826DX systems were installed; finished in fiberglass for use in outdoor applications. To round out the system, the venue’s entrances and common areas were equipped with a total of 30 DAS CL-6T ceiling speakers to provide relaxing background music.
