Introduction

A rooftop blending creative cuisine and live performances

Located in the heart of the Caucasus, Yerevan is a city undergoing a profound transformation. The Armenian capital is not only one of the oldest cities in the world, with roots dating back to 782 BC, but is also gaining momentum as a tourist destination. With views of Mount Ararat and an increasingly modern offering, Yerevan attracts both international visitors and a local audience seeking new experiences.

In this growing context, Coba Sky Restaurant has established itself as one of the city’s landmarks. Situated on the rooftop of the iconic Hotel Dvin, this venue combines signature cuisine, cocktail culture, and live musical performances. Coba Sky Restaurant features a design inspired by Mayan architecture, with carefully chosen black, gold, and white tones.

Divided into three main indoor areas and an outdoor terrace with panoramic views over the city, the venue hosts nightly live music and dance performances, with singers, DJs, and dancers forming part of the regular lineup.

With an immersive design, well-planned lighting, and an atmosphere that evolves throughout the night, Coba is much more than a restaurant: it’s one of the key spots in Yerevan’s nightlife.

Challenge

Acoustic versatility for a multifunctional venue

The main challenge of the project was to install a sound system capable of adapting to the venue’s different environments. During dinner service, the system needed to deliver smooth, balanced sound that would subtly complement the dining experience. Later in the evening, as the mood shifted toward a more festive tone, music took center stage, and the system had to respond with clarity, punch, and uniform coverage.

Additionally, the interior design of the venue was a key factor, requiring the sound equipment to blend in visually without drawing attention. The layout also presented technical challenges, as the space included multiple connected rooms, open terraces, and distinct usage scenarios for each area.

Solution

ARTEC for ambiance, VANTEC for the show

The solution was implemented by Four Stage, an Armenian company specializing in the supply and installation of professional audio systems. Their approach took into account the unique characteristics of each area, ensuring excellent sound quality and seamless integration with the surroundings.

In the main hall, which hosts both dinner services and performances by DJs and live acts, the system was built around ten VANTEC-20A units and six VANTEC-118A subwoofers, offering a powerful and versatile setup. The curved source loudspeakers from the VANTEC series were installed on the second level of the stage, ensuring uniform coverage across both the seating area and the dance floor. Additionally, two ARTEC-510A units were added as L/R front-fills to complete the hall’s sound coverage.

The bar hall, with its more relaxed vibe, was equipped with four ARTEC-510A units and four Q-10A subwoofers. These QUANTUM series subwoofers delivered a discreet visual presence while offering solid performance for a multifunctional space.

In the ceremony hall, designed for private events and celebrations, the same solution as in the bar hall was implemented: four ARTEC-510A units and four Q-10A subwoofers. This configuration ensured complete coverage of the area while maintaining a minimal visual footprint.

On each of the two terraces, four ARTEC-510 systems were installed. In addition, the Coba Sky Restaurant features four balconies, each equipped with two more ARTEC-510 units, achieving excellent outdoor sound coverage without compromising the venue’s aesthetics or the overall guest experience.

Thanks to this installation, the system effectively adapted to the venue’s different environments, delivering high-quality audio while respecting the architectural design of the space.

Conclusion

Adaptability and aesthetics for a nightlife landmark in Yerevan

The installation carried out at Coba Sky Restaurant by Four Stage has helped position the venue as one of Yerevan’s most exclusive nightlife destinations. The versatility of the systems made it easy to adapt to different settings, proving how a well-planned restaurant sound system installation can elevate a high-end entertainment concept.

Moreover, the project was executed with special attention to visual integration, respecting the venue’s architecture and maintaining a cohesive look across all areas. Thanks to this approach, the sound supports the rhythm of the space consistently—from the first guests of the evening to the final performance on stage.
