Barstool Scottsdale Sports Bar, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, has installed a configuration of systems from the ARTEC, OVI and VANTEC series to adapt to the venue’s different environments. During the day, the space operates as a sports bar where guests can watch live sports broadcasts, while at night it transforms into a lively hotspot featuring DJ sets, live performances and a party atmosphere.

The project was developed by Sal Accardi, founder and system designer at Accardi Designs, who immediately identified the potential of the space to combine both uses. “It was basically a sports bar, but when I saw the space I thought it could also work as a nightclub, so I decided to add subwoofers because it was clear they would eventually bring in DJs”.

The installation combines different models from the ARTEC, OVI and VANTEC series, strategically distributed throughout the venue to ensure uniform coverage across all areas and meet the different uses of the space. Among them are ARTEC-510 systems, installed in bars, VIP areas and near the DJ booth, where they also serve as monitors. “We chose the ARTEC-510 because it is very versatile. It can deliver high output when needed, but also maintains excellent sound quality at lower levels. In addition, its mounting bracket allows it to be installed on the ceiling and it blends seamlessly into the space”, explains Accardi.

The stage features a main system based on the VANTEC series, consisting of 4 VANTEC-20A units flown from the ceiling in a 2-per-side line array configuration, providing uniform and precise coverage across the entire front area for live performances and DJ sessions.

OVI-12 systems were installed over the main dance floor, delivering the primary sound during sports broadcasts and the venue’s most energetic moments. “The OVI-12 are above the dance floor and are used when Barstool wants powerful sound during sports broadcasts. And when halftime comes, we can activate all the subwoofers and turn the space into a full-on party. Then we switch back to game audio simply by changing the configuration”.

Accardi also highlights his relationship with DAS AUDIO after several years using its systems across different projects. He first encountered the brand while working as a DJ, and since then it has been present in many of his designs. For the founder of Accardi Designs, one of the brand’s key differentiators is the support it provides to industry professionals: “To any installer seriously considering working with DAS AUDIO, I would say their customer support is second to none. They become part of your family, support you in any situation and, on top of that, they have such a wide catalog that there is always a suitable system for every space”.
