Twelve After Twelve Club D.C.

DAS Audio Invigorates the Action at Twelve After Twelve in Washington, DC

The multi-room venue is equipped with Artec, Altea and E11Even Sound systems.

Providing Washington, DC, with regional and world-class DJ talent and live bands, Twelve After Twelve is an 8,000+ square foot, multilevel lounge that perfectly blends intimacy with action. They recently completed a sound installation with the support of The Babylon Group of Washington, DC, a hospitality group that markets, manages, and promotes service industry businesses. The company worked closely with DAS Audio of America’s National Sales Manager for Nightclubs and Hospitality, John Fiorito, and deployed a sophisticated sound system setup that addresses a wide range of activities throughout the multi-room facility.

Beau Biabani, company founder, explained: “The space features five bars and an outdoor deck with a retractable roof with plenty of space to bounce between the four dance floors. The venue focuses on bringing in local talent and giving these artists the opportunity to showcase their work. By coordinating with John Fiorito, we were able to tailor the sound reinforcement capabilities in each space.”

The Red Room, which focuses on hip hop, Latin, reggae, and funk is now outfitted with eight 2-way passive full range Artec-308 loudspeakers, augmented by two powered Artec-508A, two Artec-306, plus two Action-S18 passive subwoofers. Four Artec-308 are fitted in the Champagne Room, which is geared toward private events, in addition to a pair of Quantum Series Q-10 compact subwoofers for low frequency support.

The Green Room offers a combination of live acts and DJs. This space comprises a combination of Altea 700 series, E11EVEN Sound, and Action series loudspeakers. The room uses two Altea-712 2-way enclosures, two E11EVEN Sound ES-10 2-way loudspeakers, and two E11EVEN Sound ES-26 2-way loudspeakers. For low frequency support, these enclosures are augmented by four Action-S218 passive subwoofers.

Outside on the Deck, where one can experience house and techno electronic music, Fiorito and the team deployed a combination of systems including the Artec-508A powered enclosures. The Blue Room offers live jazz and is also used as an additional space for private events. The room is fitted with two Artec-508A, five Artec-308, and four Q-10 compact subwoofers. Completing the setup, the CL-6-TB 6-inch ceiling mount loudspeakers adorn the hallway and restroom areas. The amp rack includes an assortment of equipment including six E11EVEN Sound EP-8K4 4-channel Class D amplifiers.

According to Biabani, “John Fiorito and Geovanni Ortiz used SMAART, which resulted in perfect timing alignment, precise equalization, and finely tuned delays. Speech intelligibility is excellent, and this was an important consideration given how some spaces are also used for different types of private events”.

Biabani added, “we are delighted with the result. Having iPad control makes the transition seamless between music selections in different rooms and provides a terrific way of interacting with all the equipment. I’m also proud of our team. They worked hard to bring this venue to life during a year in which it was unknown if we would ever get to the end of the tunnel.”
