Introduction
On October 22, 2025, the spectacular opening ceremony of the 3rd Asian Youth Games took place in Bahrain. Dafeng Industry, a leading Chinese company in the cultural and sports sector and exclusive partner of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), collaborated with DAS Audio to deliver an audiovisual show that combined cutting-edge technology with a strong local cultural identity. This collaboration not only marked Dafeng’s “global debut” as the main producer of opening and closing ceremonies for high-profile international events. It also demonstrated how China’s cultural and technological ecosystem can work alongside high-quality international resources to convey the idea of “harmony in diversity”.
Strategic trust: from mutual evaluation to ecosystem-based collaboration
Dafeng placed particular value on DAS Audio’s commitment to sound solutions for sporting events, as well as on its rigorous production and quality control processes. In this context, Manuel Peris, the company’s global CEO, travelled to China to meet with Dafeng’s president. During this meeting, both parties explored different cooperation scenarios and the details needed for technological implementation, evolving from a simple “product adaptation” to a true “ecological collaboration”. This evolution laid a solid foundation for their joint work at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain.
Joint work: technical strength that ensures flawless execution
The seamless collaboration between the teams ensured the success of the ceremony. DAS Audio systems have been installed in NBA and NFL arenas, LaLiga stadiums and the Shanghai Formula 1 circuit, among other top-tier venues, making the company a reference for major events. Taking into account the acoustic characteristics of the venue in Bahrain, DAS Audio designed a custom sound solution that ensured uniform coverage and excellent clarity.
A joint team of DAS Audio engineers and Dafeng technicians worked side by side throughout the entire project. They took part in planning, system adjustments and on-site coordination, covering every stage of the process: installation, calibration and optimisation of sound effects at each phase of the ceremony. Thanks to this collaboration, the creative concepts were executed with precision.
The main system was configured in L/R with arrays of eight EVENT-28A and two EVENT-118A subwoofers per side. Two arrays with six EVENT-28A per side were installed as outfills, while eight EVENT-28A were used for the delay area. The frontfill consisted of six EVENT-28A, reinforced by 16 EVENT-218A for low-frequency support. In addition, the stage was equipped with 12 EVENT-M210A monitors. This configuration ensured uniform coverage and excellent clarity throughout the venue.
The stability of the system and the sound quality received high praise from the ceremony’s general director and the audio manager, and at the end of the event the organising committee sent an official letter expressing its recognition and gratitude.
Cultural exchange: technology and cooperation with an international outlook
Dafeng’s participation in its first major production in Bahrain not only meant taking its technology, products and professional expertise abroad, but also sharing its corporate culture and innovative spirit. As the main producer of the ceremony, Dafeng integrated state-of-the-art international technology while embracing Bahrain’s history and cultural identity. This included incorporating elements of traditional Gulf music and planning the installation in a way that respected the cultural environment of the venue.
The cooperation between both parties demonstrated how different cultural perspectives can be integrated into a shared project. This experience reflects the principle of “harmony in diversity” and sets a benchmark for the involvement of Chinese cultural technology companies in major international events through a model that combines technology and culture.
