Madrid Salvaje Festival

Madrid Salvaje kicks off its first edition with DAS Audio systems

Urban music fans can finally enjoy a festival to call their own. Held during the 4th and 5th of October at Ifema, Madrid Salvaje successfully closes its debut edition with great attendance numbers, which strategically positions this unique urban music event on the festival scene.

One of the biggest draws to Madrid Salvaje was its lineup which featured the most prominent national urban acts. During the first weekend of October, the festival pulled in an audience of around 30,000 people, mostly youngsters, offering an array of music genres: reggae, ska, trap, rap… Under the motto “We are the indomitable, the wild”, the festival production company, The Music Republic, managed to attract the interest of its target audience, resulting in tickets being sold out weeks before the show and the confirmation of a second edition in 2020. After the positive reception, Madrid Salvaje aspires to become a benchmark for urban music festivals in Spain.

DAS Audio has been involved in this new project from the beginning and has been present on-site delivering sound for the festival on three out of the four open-air stages. The rental company Audioprobe was tasked with supplying and deploying the DAS Audio equipment on the main “twin” stages, Canna and Cutty Sark, and on the Negrita stage, which offered uninterrupted concerts from 6 pm to 2 am.

On the twin stages, the main system consisted of thirty-two Aero-50 enclosures amplified by the DX-100i as master and DX-100 as slaves, with the latest version of presets v5.5 for Aero-50. Additionally, twenty-seven UX-221A subwoofers were rigged, along with twenty-two Aero-40A as delay and twelve Aero-40A as frontfill, which provided powerful and quality sound.  On these stages, fans listened to headlines acts C. Tangana, Natos and Waor, Lola Índigo, Rayden and Fernandocosta, among others.

On the Negrita stage, a main system of twenty-eight Aero-40A and eighteen UX-218A subwoofers was deployed, along with six Aero-40A as frontfill. The sound system was optimized with DASaim, DAS Audio´s solution for controlled SPL and directivity, achieving uniform coverage and high intelligibility over the audience area. In addition, the DASnet software was used to optimize the design with DASaim. On this stage, festivalgoers enjoyed the performances of Tremenda Jauría, Dubioza Kolektiv, Mafalda, Talco and many more.
