The Minsk Ice Skating Stadium
The Minsk Arena Complex, includes an Ice Skating Stadium which seats 3,000 spectators
The new Minsk-Arena Complex, a multi-purpose sports complex on the outskirts of Belarus's capital city, boasts an entire range of facilities, including a stadium dedicated exclusively to ice skating. This pavilion, which seats 3,000 spectators, is one of the fastest in the world, according to athletes. D.A.S. Aero line array systems provide the sound for this modern facility, which was recently inaugurated along with the majestic Minsk Arena.
Six arrays comprised of six powered D.A.S. Aero 28A line array systems were uniformly distributed throughout the stadium to provide even sound coverage for the seating area. The use of advanced computer simulation software provided the necessary data to determine appropriate splay angles between the units as well as the corresponding signal processor settings guaranteeing adequate sound coverage for the expansive spectator area.
In the center area of the pavilion which houses two training areas that are used by both the Skating School and the general public, six D.A.S. Artec 26W cabinets in white were installed. These systems integrate perfectly with the architectural structure that supports the facility´s ceiling and deliver sound the sound needed for messaging and background music.
The Minsk-based company Art Ramos Studio a.l.c., which specializes in soundtrack projects, lighting, cinematography and staging, led the installation of the sound reinforcement system for the entire complex, including this ice skating area, as well as for the complex's impressive cycling track and Minsk Arena.
According to Anton Stretslov, deputy director of Art Ramos Studio, "As in the Minsk Arena, the challenge of this project was to achieve great speech intelligibility. Due to the echo produced by the facility´s structural characteristics, it was essential to employ systems with great dispersion control. This made the use of line arrayl systems crucial, and given our positive experience with D.A.S. Aero line array systems in previous projects, we used them again, which has guaranteed us a fully satisfactory result."
