The Teatro del Bosque in Móstoles revamps its sound with D.A.S. Audio
The Community of Madrid’s impressive Teatro del Bosque recently underwent a complete overhaul of its sound system, installing D.A.S. Audio professional sound systems to provide the best sound on the market for this 600-person-capacity theater. Located in Móstoles, 18 km from the center of the capital, this modern venue has earned a place as one of the most iconic theaters in Madrid’s Theater Network since it first opened its doors in 2003.As part of an ongoing effort to keep the theater running at peak performance, the venue’s managers turned to Madrid-based Serman Pro to supply and install a powerful D.A.S. sound system that would ensure top-of-the-land sound for this first-class theater. With José A. Urrialde at the helm, the Serman Pro technicians analyzed the size and architectural design of the Teatro del Bosque and recommended installing the new powered D.A.S. Event line array systems.
Specifically, the team installed 12 powered D.A.S. Event 210A line array systems for the main PA. These systems are divided into two linear arrays of six units on either sides of the large, 18-meter-wide stage and offer flexible rigging hardware for optimal cabinet positioning that provides full sound coverage throughout the house and orchestra. The Event systems incorporate D.A.S. Audio’s Easy-DSP ™ system configuration interface, which simplifies preset selection for the number of units and throw depth.
Two powered high-performance D.A.S. Event 218A subwoofers were brought in for an extra low-frequency boost. Equipped with a dual 18-inch speaker, these speakers pack the strong punch needed in musical theater performances. These front-loaded systems feature an efficient 3600 Wpeak Class “D” amplifier that offers a maximum peak SPL of 140 dB. The system is rounded out by a D.A.S. DSP-2060A digital signal processor to handle the management and control of the new system.
This powerful new D.A.S. sound system further secures the Teatro del Bosque’s spot as one of Madrid’s most fully-equipped venues, able to host an entire range of plays, musicals and performances. The theater’s comprehensive program extends beyond the stage to include guided tours, a school for curious theater-goers who want to learn more about the performing arts and discussion sessions with the audience held after a performance.
