Primavera Pop 2015 Festival in Madrid with D.A.S. systems

D.A.S. professional sound systems provided flawless sound at Primavera Pop Festival 2015, celebrated at Madrid’s Palacio Vistalegre Arena in May. More than 5,000 fans packed the house for the festival, which was headlined by some of the world’s biggest artists and groups including Jason Derulo, Sweet California, Auryn and Maldita Nerea.

Madrid-based sound company Fluge was called in to handle the sound for this annual festival, organized by the renowned 40 Principales (Top 40) radio station. As usual with events of this magnitude, Fluge worked hand-in-hand with D.A.S. Audio and D.A.S. Events Engineer Joel Damiano, who was onsite to provide technical support for the set up and adjustment of the massive system rolled out for this much-anticipated festival.

A total of 28 large-format D.A.S. Aero 50 line array systems were put into service for the main PA. These powerful systems were rigged on either side of the stage in two linear hangs of 14 units each. The crucial low frequency punch was provided by 18 powered ultra-low frequency DAS UX-221A subwoofers, stacked in two blocks of nine units each under the hangs in a classic left/right configuration.

D.A.S. chose Primavera Pop 2015 for the live debut performance of its powered UX-221A subwoofers, designed in response to increasing demands for high-powered ultra-low frequency subwoofers at major concerts and festivals.

Given the size of the audience the technicians rigged 16 D.A.S. Aero 40A ALAS™ (Advanced Line Array Systems) in two arrays of 8 units on either side of the stage for side fill. Down fill was handled by six D.A.S. powered Convert 15A systems, while eight Convert 12A systems ensured clear sound for the down-in-front fans. Fluge rounded out the system with a small army of powered D.A.S. Road 12A and Road 15A stage monitors.

The festival had another great year and was a resounding success, hugely popular with the fans for both the performances by top artists and the consistent sound quality provided by D.A.S. systems, the result of the outstanding system the Fluge Audiovisual technicians deployed at the Palacio Vistalegre Arena.

Yet Pop Primavera goes beyond simply being one of the most popular festival of the year to help those in need, with event organizers donating a portion of the festival proceeds to the ANAR Foundation, an organization that helps kids and teens who are victims of cyberstalking, domestic violence and other social issues.
