The Polytechnic Universities of Madrid and Valencia visit D.A.S. Audio
|D.A.S. Audio’s headquarters in Fuente del Jarro, Valencia recently opened its doors to students from the Polytechnic Universities of Madrid and Valencia. Visits from the two universities were held separately within the last few weeks and served to expand students’ practical training, an activity that D.A.S. Audio has encouraged and supported for a number of years.
Both groups began their tour in the company’s Engineering Department, where the students learned firsthand about the D.A.S. Audio research, design and development processes. Here the students came into contact with anechoic chamber measurements as well as complete systems, and received explanations on the development of 3D prototypes as well as the complex mechanical design of the rigging systems incorporated into D.A.S. line array elements.
Later, the students paid a visit to the company’s production facilities and had the opportunity to see the entire manufacturing and assembly process of the company’s numerous products, including the new D.A.S. Aero Series 2 line array systems. The group was also able to visit the carpentry section to see where the system enclosures are manufactured as well as the area where the speakers and drivers for these enclosures are built. The tour also included the electronic section where the electronic components installed in the D.A.S. systems are produced.
To end the visit the group received a series of lectures given by Inmaculada Herrera, a membrer of D.A.S. Audio’s Engineering Department. The talks covered everything from line array system theory and configuration to the different measuring and simulation tools used in system aligning, including subwoofer cardioid configuration. Both teachers and students from both universities topped off the session in the company’s own auditorium with a complete live display of the high-performance D.A.S. Aero Series 2 line array systems.
