Daddy Yankee Lausanne
Daddy Yankee in Lausanne (Switzerland) with D.A.S. Aero Series 2 systems
|Reggaeton pioneer Daddy Yankee recently gave an outstanding performance in Lausanne (Switzerland), his signature sound backed by D.A.S. Aero Series 2 professional sound systems. The concert was part of the I Love Reggaeton Festival held at Lausanne’s Malley indoor arena, where over 6,000 fans converged to revel in the sounds of some of the biggest acts in the industry. The Puerto Rican artist headlined the festival, sharing the stage with a variety of world-renowned names in reggaeton like Prince Royce, Papa London and Rodri-go.
After weighing a number options event promoter Pro Sound & Light, with Paulo Martins at the helm, decided to roll out D.A.S. Aero Series 2 systems for the Daddy Yankee concert. The consistently high performance of these systems at large events worldwide is more than enough reason to make the Aero Series 2 one of the best choices on the market for sound solutions at large live events.
Led by sound technician Ricardo Peláez, the Pro Sound & Light team deployed 16 large-format D.A.S. Aero 50 line arrays for the main system in a typical left-right set-up with eight cabinets flown on opposite sides of the stage. The Aero 50s were matched with 16 powered D.A.S. LX-218A subwoofers for low frequency support; these powerful units were ground stacked in pairs in front of the stage.
Front and center fill was handled by systems from the D.A.S. Convert Series line, specifically six powered full-range Convert 12As. The size of the audience area proved a challenge for the sound team, who decided to set up two relay towers about 35 feet from the stage to minimize any sound delay for fans in the back of the arena. Both towers were rigged with eight powered D.A.S. Aero 12A systems to provide outstanding coverage throughout the venue.
Both Daddy Yankee and opening act Prince Royce took full advantage of the powerful D.A.S. systems to bring the sound to the Malley arena and fans were able to enjoy an unforgettable evening of the Reggaeton artist’s full repertoire. Daddy Yankee, born Ramón Luis Ayala Rodriguez, is considered by many as the “King of Reggaeton” and his level of impact on the genre has been so significant that TIME magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2006.
