Famous Café Mambo in Goa, India, with new D.A.S. sound system
|Just steps from Calangute beach, Café Mambo holds one of the top spots on Goa’s world-famous club scene. Located on the bustling Tito’s Lane, Café Mambo has made a name for itself by playing host to a variety of national and international DJs with a different theme –from hip hop and house to techno and retro– every night of the week. Café Mambo is one of a clutch of venues owned by brothers David and Ricardo De Sousa, who are no strangers to superb sound: Café Mambo has relied on D.A.S. professional sound systems for over nine years and the owners religiously update the club’s sound with new D.A.S. products every three years.
The first D.A.S. products installed at Café Mambo were Rf-15.85 systems paired with Rf-218 subwoofers. Pleased with their performance the owners augmented the system three years after it was installed, investing in additional Rf-15.85 and Rf-218 systems for the main dance floor while reusing the older systems outside. The De Sousa brothers have once again decided to kick the sound at Café Mambo up a notch and contacted their long-time sound provider Audio Kris to design and install a new sound system.
Goa-based Audio Kris, a professional sound and light provider, has worked hand-in-hand with the De Sousa brothers and D.A.S. Audio for years. Given the owners’ lengthy and positive history with D.A.S. products the technicians decided to install systems from the D.A.S. catalogue of Aero Series 2, Avant Series and Artec series of products, confident that these new systems would more than fit the bill for the Café Mambo sound rehaul.
The Audio Kris technicians installed eight Aero 12A compact line array systems on the main dance floor, where partygoers tear it up dancing to some of the world’s best DJs. These efficient and powerful systems were matched with four high-performance LX-218A subwoofers and a D-100 amp for distortion-free music. The indoor system was rounded out with two Avant 118A systems for the DJ monitor; these powered subwoofers provide extended bass response for the two Avant 15A full-range tops which were also installed.
The open-air lounge that encircles the enclosed dance floor is the ideal place to kick back and relax with a snack and cocktail. To boost the outdoor sound the technicians decided to install four Artec 526A ultra-lightweight amps. These systems provide a dynamic range and extremely low-distortion that, when paired with two LX-215R long-excursion loudspeakers, take Café Mambo’s outdoor system to a new level of low-frequency performance.
The D.A.S. Audio systems that Audio Kris installed at Café Mambo back the nightclub’s reputation for quality sound and rocking music from top international DJs. Holding strong on Goa’s party circuit, Café Mambo’s tagline “Where the world comes together” is an apt description of everything the club has to offer: locals, weekenders and celebrities all come together at Café Mambo to enjoy top-notch entertainment and superior sound provided by D.A.S. Audio systems.
