Bonfim Light 2011
Local company Arena Audio Eventos was contracted to provide the sound system
Salvador, capital of the Brazilian state of Bahía and one of the country's oldest cities, recently hosted the 14th Bonfim Light festival at the city's marina. Headlined by groups like Tomate, Banda EVA and Jammil, numerous famous Bahian musicians participated in this popular event.
The more than 10,000 fans that filled the marina's esplanade were able to enjoy the music of their favourite artists through the power of D.A.S. Aero 12A sound systems. Local company Arena Audio Eventos, at the helm of the festival´s sound, once again looked to D.A.S. Aero Series2 to get the job done.
Audio Eventos pulled out all the stops and successfully delivered quality sound to the packed audience by mounting two integrated line array system formations of 12 self-powered D.A.S. Aero 12A units on either side of the stage.
Twenty D.A.S. Aero 182 2K powered subwoofers were used to provide low frequency reproduction and to round out the P.A. system. The subwoofers were ground stacked in two double blocks of five units each at each end of the stage.
Two self-powered Aero 38A systems were mounted on the stage-lip as front fill for the first few rows of the audience, while two D.A.S. Compact 2 systems and two Compact 218 Sub subwoofers were used as side fill.
A total of 20 SML-12A powered monitors from the D.A.S. Stage Monitors series were distributed along the stage to accommodate the different groups participating in the festival.
Two Yamaha PM5D-RH mixing consoles served as the control centre for both the main system and the stage monitors, providing a fully powered system control that responded flawlessly throughout the festival.
Technicians and the event organizers alike were delighted with the performance and reliability of the D.A.S. Aero Series2, which provided excellent sound coverage to the crowds that filled the marina. With easy instalment and adjustment, these systems give an extra edge that never fails to impress.
