Arenal Sound 2016
D.A.S. Audio's Sound Force makes a splash at Arenal Sound 2016
The state-of-the-art Sound Force joined forces with the powerful Aero Series 2 at this year’s Arenal Sound, where D.A.S. Audio professional sound systems have been a regular for years. Held annually at Arenal beach in Burriana (Castellón), this four-day festival –Spain’s biggest– played host to numerous top-name DJs including Steve Aoki, Les Castizos, Dorian DJ and Borgore.
D.A.S. Audio amped up the power at this year’s Arenal Sound with cutting-edge Sound Force monitors. The new SF-Monitor (SF-M) is a powered DJ monitor system designed by D.A.S. for discerning DJ´s world-wide. The impressive SF-Monitor comprises two parts, the SF-20A powered mid-high unit and the SF-1521A, an innovative two-way low frequency system. Specially designed stacking hardware allows the SF-20A to be mounted on the SF-1521A subwoofer and angled at the DJ´s preference. Both the SF20A and the SF-1521A are DASnetTM capable, allowing for remote monitoring and control of the systems.
Full service provider Fluge was once again called in to handle the sound reinforcement for the festival and teamed up with D.A.S. Audio, whose systems were set up on the main stages. A veritable army of systems was deployed on the main Hawkers stage, where the sound team decided to roll out 28 large-format D.A.S. Aero 50 line arrays, flown in linear formations of 14 units each on either side of the stage.
These systems were matched with 24 ultra-low-frequency UX-221A subwoofers stacked in two 12-cabinet blocks in a cardioid configuration on either side of the stage for exceptional punch. D.A.S. Convert Series as front fill provided the best coverage possible for the festival’s down-in-front fans.
Convert 15A powered systems, stacked on the LX-218CA subwoofers, were used for side fill. The main-stage system was rounded out with powered D.A.S. Road 12A and 15A stage monitors. To provide even coverage for the long audience area two delay towers were set up with eight D.A.S. Aero 50 line array systems were flown from each, their massive throw capacity ensuring perfect sound for the entire audience.
The set-up at the Inside stage, where 24 D.A.S. Aero 50 were flown in two linear hangs of 12 systems each, was no less impressive. The Aero 50s were paired with a combination of 12 D.A.S. UX-30A and 12 LX-218CA subwoofers, ground-stacked in front of the stage in a cardioid configuration.
